Electric Quilt Lecture
Looking for a new gadget to add to your quilting repertoire? Want to improve your creativity? This 45-90 minute demonstration of computer quilting is for you.
In this lecture/demo, students will have a chance to see an idea turn into a block and a full colored quilt in just minutes. See how applique and quilting designs will look before actually sewing them. It includes audience participation plus a trunk show of quilts actually designed using the program.
The new computer quilting programs allow you to pull ideas from your brain and get them on paper before they fly away.
Start with a published pattern then see what it would look like on point, with a border, with sashing or in totally different colors. Change a published pattern to a design that fits your needs. It's so much faster than colored pencils and graph paper!! No more making up fabric squares, only to find they aren't "working."
Actual patterns can be printed for templates, paper piecing or rotary cutting and yardages can be calculated.
The Electric Quilt Program will be demonstrated but the same basic concept applies to several other brands of programs. A projector is used so everyone can see the results.
Leave the rotary cutter at home and explore this fascinating quilting gadget.
